Day Seven: Sept. 27 '09

We climb the Himalayan foothills to Gangotri - source of the Ganga and home of the ancient Rishis - creators and originators of the practice of yoga. With panoramic views of the Bhagarti and Shivaling snow peaks, this exotic location has an atmopsphere all its own.

Day Eight: Sept. 28 '09

We begin our trek through the pine forest hill station of Gangotri onward and upward alongside the Ganges to our tent camp in Bhojbasa beneath the peaks of the greater Himalayas. The huge white triangle of Shivaling hangs in the night sky long after sunset, Amazing.

Day Nine: Sept. 29 '09

We follow the narrow trail to Gamuk {the cows mouth} to the very source of one of the world's mightiest rivers. Holy water streams forth from beneath the glacier. It's like nothing you've ever experienced.
